No-Stress Sign Language

Published by under Signing Resources and Ideas

I found out about Signing Time several years ago from my daughter, Kelly. She started working for a company called Two Little Hands Productions. I was living in California at the time and remember when she sent me a gift set, which included My First Signs, Playtime Signs and Everyday Signs. What fun! I immediately began to learn new signs and found myself singing along with Rachel. I was addicted! This is a show that kept my attention and helped me learn a new language, while being totally family friendly. When I watch the shows, Rachel makes me feel like I am one of the family. Alex and Leah are fun and entertaining and the cast of children are adorable. Kelly continued to send me new shows, so before I moved to Utah, I already had all the available Signing Time collection.

My granddaughter, Emma, was born in November 2006 and we ordered Baby Signing Time for her. At just three months old, if she was fussy, we would put Rachel in and she would calm down. The music CDs are great! When we are in the car and we have an unhappy little girl, all we have to do is put in one of the Signing Time CDs and Emma is all smiles.

Just a year ago, my husband and I moved to Utah. As I began searching for a job, Kelly let me know that Two Little Hands was looking for an Office Manager. I was hired and am very blessed to be working for such a wonderful company with such a fabulous, creative team. Rachel, Emilie and the rest of the team truly do make me feel like part of their wonderful family.

Using Signing Time to make a difference in the world

Published by under Signing Time News

I get the privilege of reading the wonderful things people are up to on the Signing Time forums, and have the opportunity to read through some incredibly heart-felt and inspiring testimonials that are submitted. I have also become acquainted with many of our fans through our weekly Wednesday night chats. I am inspired when I read blogs where people share their amazing journeys. I recently came across the Vernon Journal blog that touched me and reminded me that there are people who are making a difference in the world. I hope you enjoy reading it as much I did.

This is the beginning of the post written on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 from the Vernon Journal blog.

Signing Time!

Tuesday, June 10, 2008

This is A-Paw. She is hearing impaired. When we first arrived in the village three years ago, she was an outgoing, playful little four year old who had no idea that there was any difference between her and her friends. Unfortunately, without any exposure to sign language, in the past three years we’ve seen her eyes glaze over and her temper flare more and more often as she realizes that she doesn’t really understand what’s going on around her and that she can’t adequately communicate her own wants and needs. After visiting us last fall, our good friend John really wanted to help A-paw and her family, so he donated the first six DVDs in the Signing Time Series…

Out of the Chaos: Notes on Raising Nine Independent Children

Published by under Newsletters

We put out our last newsletter with an article by Lex de Azevedo, father of Rachel and Emilie. We have had so many funny comments come to our office, that we thought we would share this with everyone!

Out of the Chaos: Notes on Raising Nine Independent Children

By Lex de Azevedo, President of Two Little Hands Productions, and father of Emilie & RachelLex's family

When Signing Time and Two Little Hands Productions started to gain national recognition, I frequently found myself being asked, “How did your daughters do it? I mean, what made them think they could start a national company and produce a series of videos that would become a television series? Did you show them how? Where did they get the idea they could do that?”
