I just found out about these playgroups today. I'd love to participate in a Signing Time playgroup with my daughter if there is one that meets in North Austin/CP/Leander or RR. Is there one?

I would really like to start a playgroup. I would like to share with you a little about me. I live in S. Austin at this time. I have a 3-year-old daughter. She was born early. We aren't sure if that is the reason for her delay. We noticed that she was behind in each stage of development. When she was just about 1 we moved to Austin and her doctor had us get in contact with ECI (early child intervention). She was in the program for two years had she went from not even crawling to walking. She doesn't talk much. She does have a few words she can say. The speech therapist she had was teaching her and I sign but it wasn't until I had seen singing time on PBS when I learned about the videos. I soon went to their website and we got them. She loves them. She has learned so much in little time. We enjoy them as a family. We play the CD's in the van and sing and sign with it. It is a lot of fun. In the fall she will be getting back into therapy. I am a nanny for two kids and they have been great with my daughter. She learns from hearing them talk. It's been a hard and exciting journey. She is a very happy little girl. I would love to meet with others for playgroup and to talk to parents about their journey. If you don't mind I would like to know a little about you.

I would love to get together some time with you and your daughter. I am not to familiar with the area around here, places to go or things to do. Where would you like to meet?
Here is alittle something about me and my family. I have two daughters Jenna who will be three in Sep. and "Yaya" who is one and a half. I have been living in Round Rock off and on (long story) for about 6 years now. We are learning sign language because my step-dad is 80% deaf and his hearing is getting worse. I also think that it is very important for my girls to know a language other what they speak at home.
