I sign with Daniel all the time, all day, every day. And I use many signs that he does not use and sign back. But the other day while he was eating his soy ice cream sandwich, I was signing to him "chocolate ice cream" (since this one was chocolate). He knows and uses the sign for "ice cream" very enthusiastically! He was so cute as he very intently watched me sign "chocolate". And I could see the gears turning him his head as he was trying to figure out how to make his hands copy mine. Other signs he will ignore over and over, but when it comes to the important stuff like chocolate, he's alert and paying attention!

Watching them as they study what you're doing... is soooo cool! Since William is a chocoholic like his daddy, we had to learn the sign a long time ago, LOL. William is still working on perfecting it, but there's no mistaking it when he wants it.
Isn't chocolate such a motivator ... for kids and adults!

I love watching those wheels turn...

Since we didn't originally know the sign for chocolate, and my little guy LOVED chocolate milk, we began signing candy and milk together. Even though we know the correct sign for chocolate milk now, "candy milk" has held strong. LOL.
