Hi, this is the first time I've visited this site. I have only just joined a signing class and the first day has already inspired me completely! I live in Orangevale (closer to the Sunrise Mall side of town), but I would none-the-less be interested in joining a signing group. Let me know if you have gotten any response and what might be the next steps.
Thanks!
Liberty

Hi Ladies,

Nice to see you all here!! Liberty, I'm glad to hear you're so inspired after only the first (and now second) days of my class!! The playgroup in our area that Janel posted the link above for is also going to be listed in your Lesson 6 handouts. Some of the other students (and I) belong to the group.

Janel, thanks again for that info you sent - I stayed up half the night reading up on SI, and am defnitely going to see about getting an assessment done. Are you enjoying your latest ST! CD?

Amber, as I mentioned in our emails, I would be interested in meeting up for a playgroup, and you can always come to the ones we have in our area.

See you all soon!!

you are welcome, it definately is an interesting reading...are you seeing any simularities between SI and your lil girl? As for the cd I love it and Tyler is enjoying trying to say new words, I think he would enjoy the new dvds...I'll have to save up for them or ask for them for his bday next month!

Hi Janel,

We so love the new one, too, and I definitely think this latest set of DVD's is by far the best. Let me know if you decide to get them for yourself, oops, I mean for Tyler!! :p Actually if you ask relatives or something to get the DVD's, feel free to have them contact me. Even if a few people were going in on it, they could send me separate checks or whatever and then I could get the DVD's to you.

As for the SI information, unfortunately it looks like there are enough similarities to warrant an assessment. Who knows, maybe I'm just being overly concerned, but I'd rather know sooner than later if there is an issue. Anyway, thanks again for all the information.

Anyway, I've voted in the polls and saw that quite a few others did, too, so hopefully we'll have another gathering soon!!! See you then!!

Saturday, August 19, 2006, is Deaf Awareness Day at Six Flags Marine World. If anyone is interested in meeting up we would love to see you there. When we got back from Deaf Awareness Day at Disneyland in March, the girls' teacher asked us what we had been doing because both girls were signing so much more that they had been the previous week. Seeing people signing out in public is such a good example for you little ones who sign.

Hi wendy.

I just started up a local online support group for sac county families of special needs kids.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sacspecialkids/

It not really a playgroup it's more of a support system for the parents. Warmline has some awesome events monthly. Feel free to join my group if interested in chatting more with other special needs families.
