All - this seems to work really well when we tried it the other day!! It does take some minutes for people to work their way to your posting here, but if you are patient, they will come!!
For this to continue to work effectively:
1) post a Reply to this thread when you open a chatroom (http://www.signingtime.com/chatroom/main.php) and want folks to join you. Put userid in title if you're trying to get someone* specific.
2) delete your post as soon as you leave chatrooms.
Deleting post will avoid a 'false hope' that chatroom is active for anyone logging in 3 days later (for example). For those that like to chat,
3) try the habit of checking here first when you log in to see who is up for a chat! If no one is, post your own. :)

* You can also try a Private Message. My experience is that many users don't have any popup reminder set (that is not the default), so may not ever notice they have a PM.
