I'm not sure if any of you know about or participate in meetup.com. You tell your interests & are notified when there are meetups in your area.

There's a mommy meetup in my area. They plan to meet at a local park (the one with the alphabet sign) on Saturday. Most of them have kids around Brady's age (2).

I think we'll show up & give them a look over & if I'm comfortable we'll join in. They seem nice, online at least.

Maybe some will be doing sign or I can get some interested!!! Maybe it can turn into a ST playgroup!!

Not getting my hopes up too high, but there's potential.

Cross your fingers for me!!

I need some new friends & want to get others involved in ST!!!!!

There you go! If you don't have any ST! friends in your area, go out and convert some.

My hubby converted some people at a baseball game! Amazing the things you talk about during rain delays!

I recently joined an ASL meetup group that I learned about in my ASL class. Unfortuntely, I work during the day and that's when they meet. We're trying to get a meeting in the evening or weekend, but so far, nothing.

The best way for me to "mingle" with the deaf is to attend a Deaf church. Sunday's about the only time I have free so it works well for me. The people there are sooo nice and patient with me but I can finally carry on a rudimentary conversation!!! :D

There are deaf baseball games and open captioned films I just found out about so I'm hoping to work those in the calendar. Actually, I'm going to a captioned film on Wed. with some of my ASL classmates. I'm excited!

How did you find out about these functions and meetings? There seems to be absolutly nothing in my area. I'm actually on the verge of making up flyers for other like me and posting them around town to see if anyone wants to meet.

Okay, so I jumped the gun and didn't read the rest of the post. I just went onto the site and it was very helpful. Thanks.

So, how did it go? Are you still in-search-of, or do you plan to take over and make this a ST! playgroup. ;)
