Hello everyone!!!!
I have official times for the October 15th date. Signing time will be at PA State Museum on Sunday October 15th. Another HUGE announcement for central PA - SIGNING TIME WILL NOW BE BROADCASTED ON WITF ON SUNDAY MORNING STARTING OCTOBER 8TH AT 7:00AM. I know this is early but at least we got it on the air!!! So maybe eventually it will be able to change times. Stay posted to local news and advertisements about the actual show. I think Channel 27 will be doing a human intrest story on my daughter in order to promote Signing Time coming to the area. I have pasted the following email I received from the museum with times and other info about the show. I will try and keep everything posted as I hear it. I am SOOOO ecxited!!!
Erika,
We have official times of 11:30 and 1:30. Even though the event will be free, there has to be some way to make sure we don't have 800 people here at one time because the auditorium only holds 400. So seating will be limited and require reservations and/or tickets. We haven't yet figured this out. The tickets will probably be distributed by the museum and become available by mid September. It will probably be a call in - get tickets mailed to you. That way we know that everyone gets a seat. The museum has agreed to open the doors at 11:00 even though, on Sundays, it isn't normally open until noon. Of course, people will only be able to come in and go directly to the auditorium. No wondering around the museum until after the performance. Then, the museum is open and free, except for the Curiosity Connection and the Planetarium shows. They told me that the shows are about an hour with about a ten minute intermission half way through.
So, if you want to add any info to your on-line conversation, go for it. The more people know about it the better.

Well, how cool is this! I'll have to see if we can pull this one off as we'll be down in Fairfax, VA for the event the day prior. We'll see what we can do! :D

I'm in the same boat because Mady and I were planning on going to Fairfax to see them Saturday.
I definitely would like more information and confirmation that they will definitely be here.............. WOOOHOOO!

You guys get Chocolate AND Rachel?!?!?!?!? That is so not fair! Somehow I don't think that taking twin 2-year-olds on a 6,000+ mile car trip would be a good idea. If I were young and single I'd do it, but then I probably wouldn't have found ST! if I hadn't had a Deaf child.

Yes, and maybe Fia's Dad can send along some cheesecake for us to drizzle the chocolate on.... Mmmm... AND, I think we can manage this one too! We'll have to look at the map. Looking for 2LHP confirmation of the timetable.
Don't think we can fit Rachel, Leah AND Alex in the Prius with us, but, if any one of them wants to drive from VA to PA with a couple of HUGE fans, we can take one!! :p (Am I getting scary yet? LOL, just excited.)

Oooh oooh oooh... y'all are twisting my arm to make it a long weekend that weekend. Here I've been going back & forth about going to the BW in Fairfax, Va or not, then you add this little addition to the mix. Especially since we were toying with the idea of going from Fairfax Va to Morgantown WV to visit my inlaws after. But with this tidbit, maybe we'll have them meet us in Harrisburg!!
Hmmmm... guess I should have Robert make plans to take some time off of work, huh? :D

Now I can't wait for October to come!!! My girls are super excited too! They both want to meet Rachel. I hope we can. Signing Time has brought a lot of joy into our lives!
Anyone else out there going? Let me know privately and I can make a name tag for you and we can set up a meet!....

TeresaJo, thank you SOOO much for letting me know about this! Whether my DH wants to take our DD or not, I'm going to take her. LOL. I don't know that we'd make the 11:30 one, though, we might have to go to the later one. We'll see. I may have to make it 11:30 so I can meet everyone else. Haha. I'm so calling this afternoon to make our reservations after I talk to DH about it. And WITF is gonna show ST?! AHHHHHH! So setting the VCR we don't get up that early. LOL.
ETA: Stink. I just talked to DH...*pout* Our service manager's house warming party is that day at 2. I don't WANT to go. I want to bring DD to see Rachel!!!! I wonder if he'd let me go to ST at 11:30, then come home and go to the party? LOL. I may do it that way.

Our tickets came in today! We will be at the 1:30 show! Yes, I know most everyone here is going to the 11:30, but I will be one tired Mama going from MD, down to VA for the Buddy Walk extravagannza starting Thursday, and coming back to MD Saturday evening. I need some time to rest! So, if I see any of you as you're coming out of the 11:30 show then great!
Anyway, we are excited to be going to the show as it is! Just around the corner!!!

Mady and I are SUPER excited to be going to see Rachel and Hopkins on Sunday at 11:30....seems like a good many of us will be there for the first show. I plan on getting there around 10-10:30 to get a parking spot and a spot in line (if we don't camp out instead...hehe).
Where is everyone planning on meeting???
Amy ~ I hope we get to meet up finally!!!! I'll try and look for you.
Bridget ~ I'm sure we will run into you after the show so I'll be on the look out. It will just be me and Mady!

Not entirely sure when I'll be there. DH is coming in from State College instead of York (he's going to the Penn State game), so it's just DD and I driving up there. So I get to decide when we leave. LOL. Hrmmmmm....so, how will we know who's who? LOL.

Amy, I was thinking the same thing. Guess we can just remember the faces of the children's pictures that we have attached to our signatures or something. Not sure.
Any thought ANYONE on how we can figure out whose there from our ST forums? Maybe if you all have your hopkins from that contest, we can hold those up or something.

Hi!
I sent you an email just now, with details about this. Hope you're still able to make this happen! Last night in the chatroom, Rachel was hoping that someone could do this so she could recognize the ST! forum members herself. Now, if that's not motivation!! :D
Anyway, to help her out, please post to this thread if you are coming to Harrisburg (and which time - that would probably be helpful) for the shows. If we don't post anything differently, we'll have someone near the show entrance with the nametags for whoever posts here.

S got to go up on stage. She loved every minute!! And I got great video!! But sadly to say the pictures could have been alot better. So if any one is willing to share, PLEASE let me know!
S loved Hopkins and even T got his turn with Rachel.
Thanks so much to Rachel for going on such a long air/road trip to see us all. You are a superstar in so many children's eyes (especially S's).
Can't wait until your next trip to the Mid-Atlantic. :)

...for making me cry in a frog costume. I couldn't wipe my tears or blow my nose. When you were telling the stories of the caterpillar and the show me a sign songs in the first show at Harrisburg, I had the same reaction, but could do something about it. You would think I would be able to handle it with the second time. When you started choking up, I did too. For the second show, I had a 50 pound frog head on my own head with no way to reach my eyes or nose, so starting to tear up and sniffle is rather a challenge. Please be more considerate of your volunteers next time. Seriously though, BIG HUGS, that is a very touching and wonderful sentiment.
This weekend was soooo cool. I finally got to put a face with the pictures. A photo never does someone justice. I have enough trouble putting 1 + 1 together and when I met people for the first time, I was like okay, who is this person. I am supposed to know who I am talking to. Now that I am home, I have a face to put with the profile and things are clicking. It is so great to have been able to meet everyone. I can only hope a 7' frog did not freak anyone out. ;)

I hear ya Moni~ it's tough getting choked up with a froggie head on and not be able to wipe the tears away.
I was so surprised at how much William LOVED Hopkins! He was looking up there half the time and waving and I think he was signing "I Love You" a few times. I figured he'd be scared of Hopkins, but he even gave ya a high 5 later!
And no one seemed to mind that Hopkins grew a whole foot taller between shows ;)
Oh, and at least you didn't have to hide behind the curtain because the kids were screaming from fear like I did in the first show! (hide, not scream) :D
