T-Shirt Contest Vote For Your Favorite

Ok folks - please take a look at the different t-shirt designs submitted by our fans. The following 6 entries were selected by our staff as semi-finalists in the Signing Time T-shirt design contest. We had dozens of other entries, and it was really hard to narrow them down to just these few...Our thanks go out to everyone who entered a design! They were really all wonderful!

The entries (in no particular order and without the names of who submitted them are):

Entry 1 - I ABC you!
Entry 2 - Tell me that you love me
Entry 3 - Signing Stars
Entry 4 - Signing Time let your hands do the talking
Entry 5- Signing Time helps me shine
Entry 6 - Signing Time tree (I Love Signing Time!)
Entry 7 - None of the above- I don't like any of these

You'll need to open each picture to see the entries, then you can vote for your favorite design.

Keep in mind that these are not finished designs- just the design concepts. The winning design will of course be reworked by our graphic designer to ensure suitablity for a T-shirt transfer. So some of these are a little rough - that's ok- We are only looking for the concept in this contest.

You can vote only one time, and for only one design. If you don't like any of them please vote for None of the Above.

I voted but not for my own...I had to e-mail my description (deadlines are hard to meet when you have your computer crash) and it turned out almost like I was thinking so maybe I'll spruce it up for the next contest and win.

SO......GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE FINALISTS....my design is at 0% :( No takers.

Was thinking of the tree house, with Hopkins on there and a plane flying overhead holding a banner that said I (heart) www.signingtime.com. So I got the words and tree house and no plane or hopkins....but great job anyhow!

I'm still buying regardless :)

You and me both! It was just so bright, not too wordy and caught my eye right off the bat. I opened all of them before looking at them, then positioned them all on my screen. Number five just yelled at me! :D

I, like many of you, had a hard time deciding. I put them all out together and got down to #2 and 5. Of course, you can only vote for one :( Oh well... whichever design wins, I know it'll be a great t-shirt!

Wow ~ we have a lot of creative and talented people out there. I personally like #3. It really seems to blend together Signing Time, and the Signing Time Foundation, (ie, Signing Stars) and the programs and opportunities that Signing Time and the Foundation offer for children with and without disabilities. That all of our little ones can sign and blossom into beautiful butterflies, and become stars in their own rite. Great Job everyone!

Well, I ended up voting for #2 (http://www.signingtime.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=100). When I first went through them, the one thing that stuck in my mental 'eyes' was the two thumbs forming a heart. That was too cool. :cool: When I came back to vote another day, I looked again, and again that stayed with me, so #2 got my vote.

And, of course, the two hands/Two Little Hands productions and launching the corresponding ST! song in my head (for those in the "know" who already have ST!, hee hee).

Are we to think in terms of what would make a good ad for Signing Time, or what picture our kids would enjoy wearing?

Does anyone know whether the designs are intended to fill the entire shirt, or just be a small picture over the breast?

I'm lovin number 5 because signing time really does make Brant shine! I'd like to see the words in a different font though - maybe not so "clinical" looking :)

I voted for #2 - Show Me That You Love Me, and my second choice is number 5. Signing Time Helps Me Shine.

my son and i both liked "let your hands do the talking." i read that someone else had lined them all up together on the screen to choose so we did the same thing and that is the one that jumped out to both of us. i liked it for a lot of reasons. it simply appealed to me visually and it seemed appropriate for any age or gender. now, they will make these for grown-ups too, right? :D

We thought that number 5 was the best so that is what we voted for. The SHINE theme seems to fit every kid and just seems right for the t-shirt! Good luck to all the designers because you all made it very hard to choose!

I vote #5-but I would also change the font and make it a little more fun with that. I would also change the wording to something like "I shine with ST" or something like that.

Everyone did a great job at coming up with designs. I thought the design had to use only 3 ink colors though? Maybe I was mistaken.

I had to vote for 4, because I had it open on the screen and my husband had to ask me to not leave pictures like that on my screen because my kids started getting excited for Signing Times and we hated to disapoint them, but it was bedtime! (They're only 1.5)

I am so greatful for Signing time my daughter 2 ( isn't deaf) but she loves signing time. She picks up signing so easy and my nephew (that is deaf was so happy)

I agree with this. changing the wording puts this on top for me. otherwise it's a hard decision

Ever since I got the first volume of Signing Time! I have thought that the line "Tell me that you love me" was the most powerful line in the whole series. The timbre of Rachel's voice really captures the yearning of a parent's desire to communicate with her child. It reminded me of the scene in "Mr. Holland's Opus" where the mother of a deaf son was in her kitchen screaming "I want to talk with my son!" after they had been warned by "an expert" to not use signs or gestures with their deaf child. (If you haven't seen the movie--they decide to start using ASL, and it ends all right.) This one line really spoke to me as the mother of a Deaf baby. It is my responsibility to learn how to communicate on her terms, and ST! has made it so easy! Thanks, Rachel!

That line always gets me, and I tear up... I always think what I would have done in that situation... and that movie was showing the era that my husband grew up (roughly) where that was the predominant philosophy... "don't gesture back"... breaks my heart (as many of you know how my husband grew up... not the "happy ending" of the movie, but rather the constant struggle, and him moving more towards school friends and faculty than family...).

So... that gets to me...
And as a sped teacher, I LOVE the song "Show me a Sign" and almost always tear up when I hear it, no matter how often I hear it... because as a teacher, I have about 50 kids that I think about for that song, though none my own...

Congratulations! I love that song, too. I used to melt when I would hear it ... It says so much about what it means to have a child who is isolated from those who love her the most, and how important that communication is.

Whenever I meet Deaf parents, I hear them express the same thing: communication is so important for a family, for a child, for parents. It's hard for me to contemplate how that simple truth has escaped so many so-called "experts" in deaf education. Aren't we fortunate that we found our way to Signing Time?
