Hi,

Can someone please explain what the buddy lists are for? I've added some people to my buddy list, but after that I don't know what it's used for. I looked up buddy list in the faqs but it wasn't much help. It says:
By going to your "My vB Home", you'll be able to see which of your friends are currently online, and be able to send them a private message.
Where do I find "my vb home"?? I can't find it anywhere! Help!

Thanks,

Tho I still don't understand what vB is, I know you can get to your Buddy List quickly by going to Quick Links up on the right side of the header bar, click on that and choose Open Buddy List. It will open a little window that shows all your buddies, and whether they are online or not.

Thanks Kei! Sounds like maybe vB home is the same thing as opening your buddy list? I don't know... this is all very new to me! lol

vB home might be your UserCP page. Link is at the left end of the orange bar that includes QuickLinks. I know you can see your subscribed forums and threads on the UserCP, but I'm not sure about the buddy list.

I think so. vB is vBulletin, it's the software that the forum operates on. I would imagine that 'my vB home' is their generic term, and when setting things up, administrators can choose what to call it on their board--User CP or something else, but I don't know for sure.

I've been a vBulletin forum user for years, but I'm kind of lazy, I only use a tiny fraction of the features. I've never used the 'buddy list' feature, though I've known it's there. The 'ignore' feature is really handy on some forums, though--if someone annoys you, you can 'ignore' them--and you simply won't see any of their posts. I'm sure that won;t be necessary here, though! :)
