For those of you in the Ohio area, specifically Columbus in the Westerville area, the information for the "Signs" of Christmas choir just came out. Their website is:
http://www.signsofchristmas.org
but the website does not seem to be working very well right now. For more info you can call (614) 890-4915.
Practices are:
October 21- 9:00am - noon
October 28- 9:00am - noon
November 4- 9:00am - 11:00am
Solo tryouts 11:00 - 12:00
November 11- 9:00am - noon
November 18- 9:00am - noon
November 25- off-no practice
December 2- 9:00am - 2:00pm
This is the Mandatory dress rehearsal, pictures, and party
All rehearsals have been moved this year to Westerville Church of the Nazarene
Registration is $10.00 and must be received by Oct. 14th. They limit the choir to the first 130 members and then divide the choir in half.
Half performs the whole weekend either December 8,9,10 or December 15,16,17. You also have to buy a shirt ($27.00) and they have practice CD's with the music for $2.00. They do not provide childcare for practices unless your child is in the choir. You perform 2 shows on Fri. evening and 6 to 8 shows all day Saturday and Sunday of your chosen weekend all in the Columbus area.
Hope to see some of you there!

In case some of you missed my post on the choir in Columbus, the deadline is approaching - Oct. 14th. However, last year if you showed up on the first day of practice, they let you in.

Jodi,

Any idea which weekend you will be performing? I'd love to both see YOU perform, and perhaps meet you in person afterwards. :)

Chris,
I will be performing the second weekend: Dec. 15, 16, 17th. Fri. night Dec. 15th is one performance at 8:30pm at Easton. I am not sure of the other locations yet for Saturday or Sunday. They will post it on the website once they are confirmed.

I do know they did get a performance at Polaris mall this year but not sure when.
I took Katie on Saturday with me to practice to see how she did and she is not ready at 3.5 years. Maybe next year. She loved the music but it was too long and 6 or 7 45 min. shows all day Sat. and Sun. would be too much for her.
Keep me posted about Dec. 10th. That is the first weekend of "Signs" of Christmas performances. Perhaps we could all go see a show that day if it works out? I will let you know the schedule once I get it.
Looking forward to meeting you in person too!

Jodi,

GREAT idea!! Looks like the KY ST! folks are coming up that Friday (Dec. 8th), so I'm thinking perhaps anyone who can & wants to can meet up initially at the "Signs" performance wherever it is that Friday. Tentatively planning a big get together at our house Saturday (Dec. 9th), so mark your calendar for that too, if you can!

How great for all of you! I'll sure miss out on the fun, but everyone (especially you, Chris :D ) needs to let me know how it all was. My sister has a Christmas concert she's trying to convince me to go to. I had to decline since I'll only be a day or 2 out of the hospital. She'd never forgive me if I drove to Ohio 2 days after her concert, but didn't make it to her concert. Then again, I don't think my body would forgive me either!

Don't worry, we'll even take pics. Since we'll BE home, it won't matter if we leave the camera at home this time...

FYI, all, if you're interested in joining us, see the thread (http://www.signingtime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2198) I started for that weekend's activities.
