Did anyone see the show last night? Oct. 3rd.

Dr. Phil had his wife join him and they had the core speakers from the Women of Faith Conference. It was really a good show.

Now on to the relation to signing..

to close out the show Sandi Patti sang a song and she had a sign interpreter. I did not get to really watch it (I have it taped), however from what I could tell.. is that maybe the interpreter may have been a Down Syndrom person. Again I have to rewatch it uninterupted. (we had just gotten home and the house was in chaos.)

I did see that one Sherry! I loved watching the signer (I think she did have Down Syndrom) and thought that she did a really good job! Lots of great facial expression and emotion!

Came in this Months Women of Faith Newsletter. The woman on Dr. Phil with Sandi Patty has been traveling with her for the conferences.

We’ve heard from many of you who have been blessed by Lisa Smith, a young woman with Down Syndrome who shares her love of God through signing at many of our conferences. Did you know that one in every 733 babies born in the U.S. has Down Syndrome? Or that the life expectancy of people with Down Syndrome has increased dramatically in recent decades? (From 25 in 1983 to 56 today.) Now, many people with Down Syndrome attend neighborhood schools, graduate from high school and go to college, comprise a vibrant part of the American workforce, live independently, make their own choices, and advocate for their rights. This month more than 250 “Buddy Walks” will take place around the country to raise funds and promote acceptance and inclusion of individuals with Down Syndrome in their communities. To find a walk near you, visit buddywalk.org.
