My daughter has Hand, Foot and Mouth disease and with the sores in her mouth, has not wanted to talk and she started signing everything she knew! She would sign what she wanted, sign the pictures of the book she was looking at and the videos we were watching! I was soooo excited! She hasn't been into signing lately, but she discovered (on her own) that she can sign what she wants and doesn't have to talk since it hurts. Yay for signing time!!

That is so wonderful. Not that she is sick, but that she could still communicate when she isn't feeling well. I don't know anything about that disease, but it doesn't sound pleasant. I wish her a speedy recovery.
