View Full Version : Daddy had a hard day...

Last week David (aka Daddy) had a bad day at work. He is a paralegal under 4 attorneys, and that day they had been especially demanding. As he was leaving the other paralegal, Kathrine, tried to cheer him up, but he was a bit abrupt with her.
With that background in mind this will make more sense.
"Daddy had a hard day
It's starting now to show
When Kathrine tried to cheer him up
He told her where to go.
Now Daddy don't you worry,
I have something that works
I'll make fun of your bosses
and tell you that they're jerks."
I'm sure that there are many personalized versions of this song. :p

Actually, I'm so far behind. You would think that a week from being cut off from the computer and cell phone would only require a week to catch up again. Unfortunately, the world didn't stop this last week to allow for that. Fortunately, SFSU (my school) is enlightened to take the entire week off for Thanksgiving, and so hopefully I'll get all caught up and perhaps ahead a bit.
Unfortunately, Daddy had another hard day yesterday. He found out that he didn't pass the Bar Exam again. :( We were really hoping that he would finally be able to make enough money so that we could move closer to the school for the Deaf for Cassia. Maybe next year...
Who is Daddy? Is it Aligreats father or Alices father. Sorry, a little more explanation.

"Daddy" in my posts refers to my husband, David, aka davidgreat.
This whole thread is a reference to one of the songs on Baby Signing Time. It is called "A Hard Day." On the DVD it talks about how a teddy bear had a hard day. On the music CD the second and third verses of the song talk about how "Mommy" and "Baby" had a hard day. Since sometimes Daddy has a hard day, too, I thought it would be nice to include him.

Ali,
So sorry to here about the bar exam. Those things must be so difficult - I can't imagine - and then all the pressure on top of the difficulty. My daughter will be taking her medical board exam early December, and I'm really hoping she'll be able to pass it.

I loved your lyrics too but am so sorry to hear that your husband didn't pass the bar exam again. Was this the 2nd time? It took me three tries to pass when I was working on my National Board Certification as an Early Childhood to Young Adult Exceptional Needs Specialist and I still remember what a blow it was the two times the letter started off with "Sorry" but the year I finally got the letter (on my birthday in 2002)with "Congratulations" made it all worthwhile! So tell him to hang in there and keep trying because, after all, if it was too easy it wouldn't mean nearly as much... ;)

Ali-
Sorry you guys have hit a rough patch. I will keep your family in my prayers. I hope that Daddy doesn't get too discouraged. I know that it's easier said than heard - but everything happens for a reason. I hope that your Thanksgiving provides blessings!

I echo everyone's sentiments. I know David has made several passes at it, and that is sooo discouraging to be facing once again down the road. Lots of {{{HUGS}}} and prayers coming your way from us (all of us!!).
Oh, and if you all need a change of scenery, the Dunlap Inn (http://www.signingtime.com/forums/showthread.php?p=16104) is fun to visit!! ;)
Aligreat,
I am a little behind with your family medical state, And I want to join in more with "Daddy". Could you explain ur families current medical situation. :D
