I just watched this through my mommy board and wanted to post it here. It was something I appreciated reading and having this knowledge before anything terrible can happen.

Wasn't quite sure where to put this.

Sally - Thank you so much for sharing this! I will defintalty have to check to see how long our five point harness can be used. Hopefully this video being shared will save some lives. You shared it at the right place. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing that video! I still have a lump in my throat and am now not sure what I want to do with my older son who is currently using a booster seat!

I thought this was appropriate and important to share in this thread about the importance of not leaving an infant in a carrier while they sleep.

I have been aware of these issues and that's why my 6 yr old boy still rides in a 5 point harness carseat. I do use a booster seet once in a while when I need to go somewhere and I don't have my carseat with me. I am hoping to get another 5 point harness carseat soon because I really do not like using the booster seat. But one thing that I do suggest that if you do use a booster seat is to get one with the back on them so that you can secure the upper belt part in the loop which is one way to add a little bit of security while riding in them. I have to admit that last year I got a lot of negative comments about my son riding in a carseat and I said safety comes first. Many parents at my son's school DO NOT put their 4, 5, 6 and so on kids in a carseat let alone a booster seat. Wis. finally passed a new law that requires kids to be in carseats or booster seats until 8 yrs of age and I was thrilled to hear that news. Not very many parents around here were as happy as I was about it. I even printed out the info. and passed it onto my son's school about the safety laws regarding carseats and booster seats.

One tip if you want to be sure you are putting the carseat or booster seat in correctly in your car go to your local fire station and a fire fighter can show you how to put them in properly. I don't know about other places but here in my town from time to time they will do a Car Safety week demo at Wal Mart.

Thanks for sharing this info how scary.
When I saw the video a month ago about the Boy named Kyle I made my husband watch it and told him we are not doing booster seats with out a 5 point harness. He wanted our 4 year old to go to just a booster and I did like the idea and after seeing what happend to the little boy we are not doing the booster seat. Thanks for the info I will pass these links on.
