Are replies ASL or not?

I love seeing the signs that everyone uses for different words! When my own boys were little they used the sign "candy" and "milk" to sign chocolate milk. We knew this wasn't true ASL, but it helped until we learned the true sign.

Anyway, just for my own clarification, it would help me a lot if replies were labeled as ASL or not. I don't mind improvising signs when needed, but I like to KNOW if I am improvising or not. KWIM? Just a suggestion...

I think that's a good idea! But maybe there should be an "I don't know" column because it is possible that what we think is not an ASL sign actually is the best solution!

There are some words to which there is no ASL sign, but if someone's posting a helpful sign idea that they know is NOT ASL, that info would help me out.
