I have seen this signed and finger played so many ways.
I sign it now. But my kids do know it many ways too.
How are you signing it? What signs are you signing?

When I did High/Scope movement/dance training, one comment made was that the traditional way of having kids make the spider "Climb" was really very inappropriate for preschool children because it asked them to do things which are physically difficult at that level of fine motor, and therefore, it was best to encourage children to make any sort of crawling motion upward-and one suggestion was the ASL sign for SPIDER.
I sign LITTLE SPIDER with the sign moving up through the first phrase,
RAIN, SPIDER ALL DONE
SUN, DRY RAIN
LITTLE SPIDER (with the sign climbing up)

In my Tiny Sign class and the teacher is Deaf, we sign
SPIDER (with hands moving up)
RAIN (hands coming back down) with both hands turnig and washing out at the bottom
SUNRISE SUNSHINE
RAIN then turn over hands and rub thumb across fingertips from fingertip to pointer as hands move outwards
SPIDER (with hands moving up)
AGAIN in the air at the top of the spout.
It seemed strange to me at first but now I like it.

We sign
SPIDER and crawl it up
RAIN DOWN
SUN GOOD
SPIDER and crawl it up
in ASL signs - but that's pretty much like the fingerplay I know!
