Hi,

I have been wanting to find or start a signing playgroup in my area, but it didn't seem to be happening. Then I found a link here on the Signing Time board that really helped (Meetup). So I started a new group. I am hoping that some of you from this board are interested in getting together. I am looking forward to it.

The way I started the group was through Meetup and they provide you with a web site. I hope it is okay to post it.

Just thought I would add an update since my last post about our signing group. It has been around for 3 weeks now and we have 9 (adult) members. We have had about 12 people at our events so far. Big enough to make it worth it, not so big that we can't all get to know each other.

Everyone there is a BIG fan of Signing Time. It is so wonderful. We have gotten together three times so far, with several more scheduled. I am really enjoying our group.

We have one Deaf mom, which is great. I have been a part of other mom's groups before, but this one is the best I have ever been a part of. There must be something about signing that makes for such great people.

I just wanted to share my excitement.

I'm a part of this meetup group & my daughter is loving it! She cries everytime it's time to leave! Thanks for starting (and staying with) the group - I'm really enjoying it!

I told a friend who lives in Costa Mesa to sign up for the forums! Hopefully you will be able to meet her and her kids if she does.

Our meetups group is growing so fast. We now have 35 members, which includes 5 deaf moms.

I am just thrilled with this wonderful group. We have made some incredible friendships, both moms and kids.

We have a lot of fun together and provide each other with a lot of love and support.

I looked for a mom's group for a long time, and never found one that I liked. Turns out, I just needed to start one. Having signing as a foundation has made for an incredible environment for all the families.

If you are looking for a group in your area and can't find one, start one. It is worth the effort!!
