I didn't know you were HOH too! It's so nice (refreshing!) to meet someone else who is! It was so nice to be able to identify with your HOH post. I don't know anyone IRL (anymore) who is HOH- so I'm always having to cater to the hearing around here (though DH has gotten a lot better over the years :) )

Our little guys are just about the same age. Daniel just turned 16 months. I've been signing with him since birth (only because I figured before birth was pointless, so I just read to him them ;) ) His signing vocabulary is now at 70 signs. I'm very proud of my little guy. Verbally he has few words so it is nice that we communication through signs. Today for example it was time for me to get my shower, but he was acting sleepy. So I gave him the choice to stay with mommy while I was in the shower (in his bouncy seat) or to go to bed and sleep. He signed "shower".

I love stories like that. It is so wonderful when our little ones start to communicate with us. My twins are 21 months. Cassia is Deaf, and Alexandria is speech delayed. Sign has made such a huge difference for us. Isn't it wonderful to know what your child wants instead of having to guess all of the time? :)

How cute! I love to see Corbin sign with me. He learns just as many words in to speak as he does sign with ST too! Same with Anika. She certainly speaks more than she signs- fine motor is not her strong point (yet). :D
