I need to learn the sign for

I need to learn the sign for diabetes :confused: is there one?

I can't find one in the dictionaries on the internet.

What I have seen is SUGAR and the you shake the "d" hand shape lower and in front of you, like the movement in the sign for WHERE.

We do the sign for SUGAR (but not the "d" shaking as described above). Context helps determine that it means DIABETES and not SUGAR.

I use a the sign for "cute" with the thumb out and the first 2 fingers next to the thumb on the chin witht he first 2 fingers going up and down on the chin.

When signign diabetic I use alll the fingers together going up and down on the chin with the thumb out.


I hope this makes it clear. I do not do the "d" letter sign for diabetic as that is an "English" sign. I am NOT fond of any "artifical" aka "English" signs because they are not ASL terms. :)
