We have been working with Cassia on taking food orally, but she hasn't had much luck with drinking. Yesterday her feeding therapist gave me a new spout to try. The most Cassia had ever drunk in the past was 20 ml--about 2/3 ounce. Today she drank 2.5 ounces in one sitting. I couldn't believe it. The spout is good for children with cleft pallets. Cassia doesn't have one, but her therapist thinks that doing exercises as if she did have one might help her keep from getting food and drink up in her nose.

In case you are wondering the spout is called a MagMag spout made by Pigeon, a Japanese company. They don't seem to sell them in the States anymore, but I did find a company in Canada who carries them. Their website is at www.galtak.com. You can read about it at www.pigeon.com, but they didn't have any way of ordering products at that site. Besides, it is probably easier to get something shipped from Canada than from Japan. ;)
