My husband and I are considering getting homeopathic constitutional treatment for Paula. In addition to her hearing loss (which may or may not be treatable), she has SI issues, food allergies and may have other allergies. She has had a rash on her face for about 6 weeks and gets welts and hives from something, I don't know what, every single day.
I have used homeopathic remedies for colds and flus, but now we're talking to an actual homeopathic doctor. She is a relative of my best friend from college and says she has actually gone through similar things with her own son. She says the allergies and SI issues are treatable with homeopathy.
Has anyone else gotten homeopathic constitutional treatment for themselves or their kids? I'd love to hear your experiences!
Thanks (and very thankful today and every day)

I love homeopathics. I took a class on homeopathy at massage school, and my brother has used them with his wheat allergies. All I have used in the last little bit has been to help with a cold, but that worked great for me. I've seen them work wonders with a child with behaviorall issues. He might have had SI as well, but I was never told if he had that as part of his lengthy diagnosis.

What kinds of behavioral issues did he have? Do you know how long the constitutional treatment lasted? What about after he was done - it really helped, huh?

hi, we went a homeopath for my child. I like it , and would recommend it(he stopped with all his ear infections!), but he really was a nonresponder to it. we then took him to a guy who does applied kinesiology, and he said Kreed does not respond to homeopathy! Which was so true! There is certainly no harm in trying homeopathy!

but my MIL swears by it - and my FIL has his own vitamin business, so he's pretty into it himself. I know lots of families with kids w/ds do homeopathic stuff and it seems to help some of the kids. I'm such a skeptic ;) but I do believe it can be helpful - I hope it works for you and Paula! Good luck!

It helped when he would take them. His mom was so excited about it. He went to someone with an EAV machine to measure what would work best for him. Unfortunately, part of his diagnosis was paranoia. He often believed that people were trying to poison him--only eating food from a sealed container that he opened personally, etc. When I first met him he was on haldol, an antipsychotic drug, as well as many other drugs, but he was still really quirky (to put it nicely.) When he started the homeopathics he seemed so much more relaxed. He had actually been physically bouncing off of the walls, but he stopped with the homeopathics. Then one day he got back on his "I'm being poisoned" trip and refused to take anything, which made his delusion worse, which made him more afraid to take anything to help him. :(

Wow, how sad. Poor kid. I've heard of symptoms coming back worse if the remedy used is not precisely the right one. Kind of a "close but no cigar" thing.
Well, just reading this makes me so thankful Paula is not in that kid's shoes. Just heartbreaking. But it does encourage me to try homeopathy with her. Thanks for the anecdote!

I'll let you know what happens if we go ahead with it. I have a feeling we will :)
