We were very excited to see 12-year-old Taylor Ackerson's article in the Boy Scout magazine mention Signing Time! Click here to see the article! (http://www.signingtime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=258&highlight=taylor)
Thanks Taylor for helping to spread the word about Signing Time. In fact, we are so excited that we are going to send Taylor an autographed Signing Time Hat and ST gift certificate!
And we'd like offer anyone else out there a similar reward! If your personal efforts directly result in a story about using sign language with children we will reward you with a special prize.
The story must appear in a local publication such as your local newspaper, radio station, PTA newsletter, Mom's club newsletter, or city magazine. Please do not contact national news outlets or TV shows as our PR folks have that covered already!! The story must mention you and Signing Time or the Signing Time website
(www.signingtime.com) (http://www.signingtime.com)/). The story must appear in print (or be shown online such as on a TV station's website) between now and April 30, 2006. The story should focus on the benefits you/your family/your child has received from the use of sign language.
Typically local news outlets and magazines are trying to find local angles on stories ... some of our customers have contacted their local media outlets in the past and provided photos or short video clips of their children/daycare/class using sign language which has triggered interest by the local station to do a story on the subject. Generally our customers tell us that personal stories generate the most media interest - such as how sign language has helped YOU and your child to communicate, demonstrating the benefits that are out there for all parents).
If your article is published, just email us the link, or cut the article out and send it to us at the address below (and be sure to include your contact information!). If you have any questions, please contact us at info@signingtime and put "get the word out" in the subject line!
