Jimmie Johnson's foundation is asking for nominations for your favorite charity:
"The initiative allows six race fans and six media members the opportunity to put the charity of their choice on Johnson's race helmet. Johnson, the defending race winner, will wear the helmet and run a specially painted No. 48 Jimmie Johnson Foundation/Lowe's Chevrolet during the Oct. 11 race at the Fontana, Calif., racetrack.
Johnson will draw two charities each race weekend through the New Hampshire event in September, collecting a total of 12 winning organizations.
Each winning charity will receive a $1,048 donation in addition to proceeds from the sale of a Helmet of Hope t-shirt.
New to the program this year, the foundation will donate $1,048 to each selected charity and distribute 100 percent of the proceeds from a special Helmet of Hope t-shirt between the organizations. The t-shirt will feature each charity's logo and can be ordered at www.jimmiejohnsonfoundation.org"
In 148 words or less, please share why this charity logo should be featured on Jimmie's helmet and why this charity is important to you
I just submitted my nomination for The Signing Time Foundation http://www.signingtimefoundation.org

"Communication is crucial, whether it be to exchange important information between driver and pit crew chief or connect and converse with the people around us. The Signing Time Foundation has created programs to help bridge the gap that children with disabilities often encounter and has given them a way to successfully communicate with others. By teaching American Sign Language (ASL) in a fun, easy to learn and remember format, children of all abilities are able to articulate their needs to their families, caretakers, friends, and teachers. My youngest son, William, has Down syndrome. Signing Time has helped him communicate with us, while assisting in his literacy and spelling in school. Using ASL to clarify his needs to others has been crucial in his academic success and acceptance with his typical classroom peers. Signing Time has given him this gift of communication that others take for granted."
Please take a moment and submit The Signing Time Foundation to http://www.jimmiejohnsonfoundation.org/Helmet-of-Hope-Fan-Submission.aspx and share why Signing Time is important to you.
