Hi there,

my little sister attended an ASL course this year and is really into it :D - now I think of getting her a ASL DVD for christmas.
She's 16 yo, so she's out of the ST! scope. I would like something like Sign me a story - but more adultish... but I'm open to any suggestions!

TIA

If she was in an entry level ASL class I would recommend "See What I Mean" from Tom Holcom. (I think that's how to spell his last name.) It is a really nice introduction to Deaf culture. It is all signed with voice interpreting. If she is more advanced I would recommend "Audism Unveiled" by Ben Bahn. It is not voice interpreted, but it is captioned. These are just two of many films out there, but if I just had to choose one to give it would be one of those two.

Thank you!

Do you know Through Deaf Eyes (http://www.amazon.com/Through-Deaf-Eyes-Linda-Gabriel/dp/B000OCY66I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1291631704&sr=8-1)? I think it sounds interesting, too. More a documentary though.
