I need help with the sign for "favor" as in "Will you do me a favor?"

Also the sign "Do you mind" It is the index finger of the dominant hand on the tip of the nose and then out to end pointing to the person. It is so hard to explain signs in writing!

In my ASL II class we had a section on making requests. You sign PLEASE FOR ME to ask. You start by stating the reason for the request (ie: My clothes are dirty, but I'm tired), sign PLEASE FOR ME, and then state what you want the other person to do (ie: do my laundry.)

The previous suggestions are good, but it depends on your intent and who you are talking to. You could sign DON"T-MIND (with you pointer finger coming off your nose), or you could sign FAVOR by using a open five hand with the middle finger slightly in, slightly bouncing on your chin... like "favorite" or "prefer". Then you could also add FOR ME after you signed FAVOR... and depending on the favor, you can add pleading hands (like a prayer position) and begging eyes... as in asking your husband to do something like wash the dishes for you when it's really your turn! haha... :cool:
