More!
We'd been signing with him from a few months old, starting with basics... eat, more, milk. One evening after supper, I think he was 11 months old, my husband gave him a taste of ice cream. William brought his hands together, I thought he was trying to clap, but then realized he was trying to ask for more. Over the next 6 months, he perfected the sign, and learned to sign 'ice cream' as well!

Sarah received ST Volume 1 for her first birthday. Within a month she was signing eat, more, want, and milk. She will be 4 soon and looks forward to each new Volume of ST. Maeghan now 1 and has been signing since 10 months her first signs were milk, dog, Dad and Mom. She now signs more, and want.

I bought the entire ST set at one time and alternated playing all of the volumes.... Keanu (HOH), who was about 2 months shy of turning 4 picked up every sign the first time through each volume. ST became Gavin's (11 months at the time of acquiring ST) favorite thing to watch and cried if anything else was put in. He started signing "eat," "more," and "milk" after about 6 weeks of watching nothing but ST. He is now able to sign about 22 signs that I can think of.... I need to be more consistent with him when I am talking to him. I do make him sign when he wants something...

She was 10 months old sitting in her high chair wanting more food. Followed by milk, eat and dog at 12 months. And now at 3 yrs old there are too many to count :D

Daniel signed "more" just after he turned 9 months. I was so excited! I quickly got the camcorder out and taped it! I also called my husband at work to tell him...twice!

Although I've been signing "milk" to Corinne before the vast majority of our breastfeeding sessions since she was 6 months old, she finally signed it (I think!) about two weeks ago. She has yet to sign it again, though.

The first sign she's done without being prompted was "light" and she did it almost a week ago. Now, every time we turn on a light, or if she's carried by a ceiling fan she signs "light" and says "ite! ite!!" :D

I think she signed "eat" the other day, but she hasn't repeated it, so I'm not 100% sure.

EAT :) hee hee - then milk and drink and play within a few weeks. He signed his first signs to us at about 13 months, and we started consistenly signing those first three signs to him at 11 months. By 18 months we had the first 3 volumes of Signing Time and he knew all the signs on them :) By 2 we had all six volumes and he knew all those signs too! We are anxiously awaiting volumes 7-9!

They weren't getting anything but breastmilk so it meant they wanted to nurse. They got frustrated when they'd sign "milk" in the middle of the night and I couldn't see what they were doing.

MORE and MILK came pretty early, however the first really spontaneous sign was CAT. Not too surprising, since we have four of them. Similarly, her first true spoken word was also CAT. And now it's likely to be WANT CAT or GET CAT.

Milk at 6 months. I always signed milk to him while he was nursing and that is the first thing he signed back. The first sign he learned from Signing Time was train from the clip on the website. Once we got the first volumes of Signing Time he quickly expanded his signing vocab and has not stopped since. He is 3 now and knows more signs than we can count. We have a new baby coming soon and we are excited to start signing with her as well.

Strykers first sign was more-we didn't start with him till after his 1st birthday, so milk wasn't high on my priority list. :)

Meghan's first sign was "want" at 8 months old. Next came milk, more and food at 9 months. At 10 months she made-up a sign for dog which was shaking her finger at our dog like she was reprimanding him. It was then that I realized we constantly said "no" to our dog! These were all pre ST and just what we were doing with her daily.

After getting St when she was 11 months, her signs sky rocketed. I think her first sign from ST was 'wash hands' / 'clean'. She just hated dirty hands and was thrilled to tell me to wash them!

Brady's first sign was "milk". He did this at around 10 months. I started signing to him at 3 months.

He's up to about 65 signs he knows or attempts. I'm so thrilled!!!

ST ROCKS!!!!!

My son's first sign was "more," at 11 months. My daughter's first sign was "milk," at 7 months. I started signing with both of them when they were newborn, to get myself in the habit.

Carter's was "eat" and Jacob's was "ball". True to form, Carter loves his food and Jacob is a sports fan. We're waiting to see about Allison. She could sign soon!

Carter 11/01

We didn't think Ian signed it until he was 15 months old, but now I think we missed his first attempts to sign to us. :( Aidan signed it at 9 months I think... Ian knows a ton and Aidan's up to about 30 words already I think (at 13 months).

his first sign at around 12 months was dog. Then quickly lots of the other more important ones soon came to follow.....but for quite some time it was only Dog. What can I say my son loves animals.
