The children's section of the library here has large "trees" (I think they're disguising the support beams for the roof) with different animals sitting in them. This morning, while there, Alli was looking up and saying "ca...ca"-I asked her WHAT CAT?, and she very deliberately signed (with almost a-"OK, let's try this again, slower this time" air about her) TREE BIG CAT UP. Sure enough, there indeed was a big stuffed lion in a tree ahead of us! I wouldn't have even believed a baby could communicate a 4 word sentence before one year!
So much for the people who say I'm slowing her down by signing with her!!
