What is the difference between Baby Signing Time and Signing Time? We've been using Signing Time since my oldest was 22 months old. Now my youngest is 17 months old and has nearly 70 signs. I'm wondering how BST is more geared for babies in ways that ST isn't. Don't sell me too much on it, lol, I can't afford another set! :p

(with the exception of blanket and pj's - we tried to teach those to him earlier for the shoot - but he wouldn't do them LOL) but we still bought it (partly because he is in it!) and he loves all the new songs. He loves all the ST! dvd's and will pick BST! hands down over any of them (well - "colors" is a pretty close second - he loves that one the most of all the ST! ones). I think it is really cute for babies, and geared to them - the colors are pastel, the animation is darling, Rachel is so cute with her ST hairdoo :) They are just so fun and it always brings a smile to my face to see all the little ones signing - I love watching babies and toddlers sign :)

Does that help LOLOL :)

There are a few differences that I've noticed between Signing Time and BST.

1 - BST is a little slower paced, but at the same time more animated than Signing Time.
2 - BST has a lot more "green screen" shots with pastel backgrounds.
3 - In BST there are songs for every section, and the signs are taught throughout the song. In Signing Time it seems like they teach all the signs, then have a song.
4 - BST uses only children 3 and under to teach the signs.
5 - Most of the signs in BST are taught in Signing Time vol 1-3, however there are a few new ones.
6 - The songs are a lot simpler with more repetition. Probably easier for little ones to pick up and remember.

My youngest right now is 21 months old. She loves both sets. And she has done more signs, or made her existing signs more clear, since watching BST. I can see how BST would be great to start off with for a very young baby. It's a hard decision - there are many people who have gone both ways. But we love it at our house!

BST was a must for me... I mean, my kids... ;)
Seriously, though, we all love 'em. The songs are great, Rachel is wonderful, and the kids are adorable.
What I've noticed with BST and William is that it is reinforcing the signs and the words that he learned w/ST and added a few he didn't know. It's a great addition to the ST family.

I understand, thank you for explaining it to me everyone :). Thank God we're not having anymore babies, lol, or Little Hands Productions is going to have to offer thier own credit card :)

My daughter now requests BST exclusively. I miss ST and am constantly trying to hood winkle her into watching one of the ST vol instead of BST.

But I don't regret the purchase, at all. How could I watching my dd gleefully doing her diaper dance?

I believe BST only uses children TWO and under which is only more amazing! BST really shows that even the youngest children can sign.

My 2 1/2 year old loves BST! She calls it the 'Baby Show'. Even though most of the signs are not new to her, she is totally enthralled by the new music and signs along with all the babies! It's been fun to watch her enjoy BST as much as ST!!
