I would LOVE to find other parents and families in Southern California that are using Signing Time! We are located about 45 minutes from Palm Springs and would love to meet other ST families in the area. Let me know if you are local!

It might be a bit of a drive for you, but Six Flags Magic Mountain is having a Deaf Awareness Day on June 10. You can get adult tickets for $23.00 if you order them in advance from GLAD.
You might also try doing a forum search for Southern California. There are older threads from this area too. Sorry, I'm up North.

I'm in Los Angeles...but just starting with ST, and my daughter is just 12 months old...not signing at all yet, so I might not be all that much of a draw to get together with. I have many friends here in L.A. though that do ST with their kids, which is how I learned about it. I just don't think any of them are on these forums. I will encourage them to join, and to get together with play groups.

Hi Susan!
At our ST playgroup, we did have a 10 month old. Although she might not have signed much with the other kids, I'm sure she picked up a lot. Somehow it seems to really encourage kids of ALL ages (including me! LOL) to sign more when there are 'live' people around signing. Don't write yourself/your DD out of the ST Playgroup scene!

I would love to get together with other children. My twin girls are 2 years old (3 on May 3rd). They love Signing Times but have no one to sign with except Mom and Dad. I would love to assist to establish monthly Signing Times gatherings!

Hi Everyone,
My name is Etel and I am the owner of SignShine. We now have Baby Sign Language classes and workshop for babies, toddlers and parents. In the classes we also sing and watch Signing Time songs and DVDs. They are great, and most of all ASL. We also talk about language development, read books and play games, all with signing.
Some of my groups are meeting for playgroups.
You can learn more at www.SignShine.com.
Hope to see you in our classes,
etel

Hi guys, I'm trying to plan a trip to the San Diego Zoo before we move. Any one interested? I know it would be a big trip for some of you, but I thought I would just throw it out there. We'd love to see some ST friends. We leave SD on Jun 29 so I was hoping to go possibly the week of the 19-24.
Let me know!! We could practice our zoo signs!

We would LOVE to go but Emily is having her cleft palate repair on the 20th and I dont think she will be up for a Zoo trip for a while after that :( My husband and I were just discussing either the Zoo or SeaWorld so she could show off all her Zoo and Ocean signs. We will have to catch up with you next time :(

Does that mean that if she chose the 19th, you could go? Or do they need Miss Emily for prep/tests or something?
Oh, and I'll have you know that Emily's so ever-present, even in my unconscious, that when someone asked me if I could do something on the 20th, I told them, "No, I'm pretty sure I'm very busy that day." LOL, Emily is the only thing on my calendar for that day!! :p

include Kids Halloween fun, pet shows, face painters, arts and crafts and
much more !!!!!!!
