Off Topic Guidelines–Adopted 8/8/06

This is a fun, family oriented site to help parents and care givers in their use of ASL. Some off topic posting can be fun, but there are some things we need to keep in mind. Since this is a family oriented site, we need to keep things to a G rating. We also don’t want to be offensive to anyone; so please remember the rules of political correctness–no disparaging remarks about a person’s ability/inability to hear, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, or disability. Offensive posts will be deleted and the writer will be warned. For more on this subject please see the Rules of Conduct described in the ST! Forums User Agreement, which apply to all of the forums.

Other forums keep threads because they can be used for future reference, but we need to keep bandwidth available for the primary purpose of this site. Because this is the off topic section, threads here will be deleted two to four weeks after people stop responding to them. Also, please try to avoid duplicate threads and posts. For example, if you had done an internet search for the word “hoax” and had found 12 different sites you found particularly funny, put all 12 links on a single thread, entitled “Links to funny hoax stories.”

We are all here to have fun and to support each others’ needs. We look forward to reading your posts and chatting with you online.
