List yours-songs to sign by
I was working on my lesson plans for tomorrows classes, and I thought it would be great to put together a list of songs we use to reinforce signing with our student groups or our own children (besides Signing Time)
A few that work well for me (Baby/toddler/preschool) which are pretty familiar:
The bear went over the mountain (also, other animals)
(BEAR, MOUNTAIN, OVER, UNDER, AROUND, THROUGH, BRIDGE, FOREST, RIVER, ROCK)
If you're Happy and you know it (HAPPY, SAD, MAD, SCARED etc)
Hey, Lolly (MOMMY, DADDY, BABY, SILLY, SONG)
Six little ducks (DUCK, BIG, LITTLE,PRETTY)
The wheels on the bus (BUS, MOMMY, DADDY, BABY, CHILDREN, TEACHER, CRY, LAUGH, TALK, PLAY, READ, QUIET, also LIGHTS, DOOR,WHEELS and any other bus part the kids can come up with!)
I like to eat (EAT,APPLES, BANANAS, also any other foods the kids have been working on or can think of that they like to eat-it was in one of these classes that I started signing ALLIGATOR PEAR for avocado)
Diddle, Diddle Dumpling (SON, PLAY, WORK, BED, SOCKS, SHOES)
This is the way (anything you might possibly do during the day)
Three little monkeys (JUMP, MONKEY, BED, MOMMY, PHONE, FINISH, DOCTOR, HELP)
One elephant (ELEPHANT, PLAY, SPIDER, FUN, COME HERE)
There was an old lady (WOMAN, EAT, BUG (or fly), SPIDER, BIRD, CAT, DOG, GOAT, COW, HORSE)
And a cute one I just found this week-Peanut butter (HEAD, SHIRT, PANTS, SOCKS, SHOES, UNDERWEAR, plus PEANUT BUTTER) Found on http://www.kellyskindergarten.com/Po...owerpoints.htm
There are powerpoints there for a lot of cute songs, and I plan to use sign clip art on some of the pages and print these out for my students and their parents.
Please add more-I'm always looking for new resources.
I sing and sign the "Alphabet Song", "Old MacDonald Had A Farm", "The More We Get Together", and "Hey, Diddle Diddle The Cat and The Fiddle".

Insy winsy spider (spider, sun, rain)
Dirty diaper song (to bob the builder) (dirty, diaper, change)
We're going to the park (to we're going to the circus) (park, play, friend, swing, slide, see saw)
Boom Boogie Jungle song (lion, elephant, crocodile, snake)
The soup is boiling up (to "the farmer's in the dell") - any food you want!
Eating song (to "she's coming round the mountain)-eat, more, food, please, all gone, finished)
Bath song (to "do your ears hang low) - (bath, duck, boat, clean)
Rainbow song -(colors of rainbow and rainbow)
If you;re happy and you know it (happy, excited, sad, angry)
If you want the words of the modified songs, just let me know
Not sure if this is the type of thing you're looking for, but I found this site a while back to use with my daughter and never got around to it. Some of them are songs, but some of them are rhymes/chants. I think the lady made most of them up herself. They're divided up into themes and seasons. HTH!
From the preschool section:
From the toddler section (Under Toddler Rhymes):
Tanya, I'd love to get a copy of the words to The Soup is Boiling Over, Eating song, and The Bath song.
Home schooling mom to 5 great kids
I'm interested too Tanya. I love familiar tunes with altered lyrics!
Amy-that's a great site-i just bookmarked it and then realized i'd bookmarked it a while back!!!
Bridget - i'll sent those songs to you
Theresa-let me know which songs you want and i'll send them to you. I love changing words to songs and now my nearly three yr old does it as well!!! My main problem is that i need to write songs also in Hebrew and i just don't have the grasp of the language to write anything funny (you know like we might write "wiggle waggle" or "fuzzy wuzzy" in english)
ok I'll get back later with the lyrics..
Here are two more;
"Cat Goes Fiddle-i-Fee" and "Farmer in the Dell."
