My son loves Signing Time videos. He began watching them at 3 months and has renewed excitement each time he views a video; he is now 10 months. We've tried out Baby Einstein videos, but they don't seem to hold his interest like signing time.

Even better, the songs, even when sung by an off-key mother, provide a calming effect when my son is frustrated, upset, etc.

Signing time videos and songs are our go-to tool when nothing else can calm our baby.

He hasn't started signing yet, but we have seen our 18-month old nephew (who introduced us to Signing Time) use the signs to communicate. (Posted on 10/14/09)

I started teaching my daughter basic signs at 6 months to help her communicate her needs without all the whinning: please, more, eat, finished. Around 1 year my husband & I introduced her to singning times. Nearly one year later she can speak & sign all the words from volumes 1-3. It's great for the whole family because it allows my daughter the ability to communicate in an appropriate manner and is fun for us to learn too! (Posted on 3/16/09)

We just received the first 3 dvds of the first setjust last week and our 2yr. old grandson doesn't want to see anything else on the TV. Danny has Lycencelphaly- and has physical and neurological delays and some low tone and sensitivity with his hands and mouth, but he is learning some signs and loves the songs. He also loves the flash cards but has difficulty holding them with the plastic clips,so I have laminated them again and have put them in a box so that he can get them out one at a time ,which is something he can do at this time. His 5 year old sister also loves the dvds and asks for them all the time too. She is very proud of herself when she uses a sign. And Grandma is learning too and so far I have learned flashcards1,2,3 and still need to learn the alphabet. Danny's parents are thrilled too and are also learning quickly. what I like most is that most of the signs are common sense which makes them easy for an adult to learn. This is the BEST sign language DVD/CD's I've ever seen. My daughter-in-law is using them in an Autism classroom and the kids as well as the staff love them. My daughter first introduced them to me when she purchased some for our infant granddaughter, who is now almost 3 and knows lots of signs and now our 9 mo. old grandson is learning. My daughter teaches deaf and hard of hearing elementary students. These DVDs are addictive, entertaining, educational and fun. Wish I could buy the whole set. Thank you for this wonderful resource! I purchased these videos when my daughter was 5 months and began watching them with her then. Early I know, but it was the only tv she was exposed to and with in a week she was mesmorized with the colors, the kids and Rachel's singing!
Now she is 14 months old and the videos are still part of our daily routine, but now my daughter dances along. She has been talking since 11 months and now says about 45 words. She couples about 15 of those words with sign. She is definitley a testament to the increase i verbal skills and iq, the videos boast of. She will be expanding her vocabulary when she receives 4-6 for Christmas!

I have the original version of these videos and began playing them for my son when he was about 7 months old. He is able to hear and speak, but I wanted to communicate with him early. He absolutely loves these videos and even surprised us one day when he was about 13 months by asking for the videos by using the sign for signing time! He is now 18 months old and the videos not only help him to sign, but they have helped him to speak as well. He continues to use signs when his words aren't clear making communication much easier in our house. Thank you so much for Signing Time! (Posted on 11/20/08)

My daughter has been mesmerized with the vol 1-6 since she was 8-months-old. my husband is Deaf and I am an interpreter so she is surrounded by sign language as well. Signing Time was the first and only thing she would watch and learned to ask for it by using the "SIGN". At 14-months-old, i just stopped counting the number of signs that she knew. The count was over 30! now at 19-months-old, her development of language (in BOTH ASL and English) is absolutely amazing. WE always know want she wants and she understands both of us! We recommend these DVDs to EVERYONE, including the people we meet that see her signing in a store. Thanks for your hard work and dedication to Leah and the rest of the United States. Signing Time DVD's taught my wonderful autistic 3 year old to sign. He started to talk a little bit just before the age of three. He has loved watching Signing Time for months and suddenly over the last three weeks his signing has taken off! He signs all the time and plays games using signs!!! We are so excited! Thank you Rachel, Leah, and Alex for helping my little boy be confident about his communication! And for bringing lots of joy and spreading laughter and smiles across his sweet face!!!! We have only had these dvd's a few weeks and my two year old is already learning the signs. She has had teachers helping her learn how to communicate with signs for the past year and she is learning faster with the dvd's. My daughter cannot speak because she has a low tone body and she has problems getting her sounds out of her body. I thank you so much for these dvd's, I will highly recomend these dvd's to others. Including her teachers! I also have my thirteen year old learning to sign with these dvd's because I think it is important the whole family can communicate with my two year old.
