Entertainment Value Price Educational Value Quality of Product I was a bit skeptical about purchasing this series after reading the reviews. But I choose to dive in and start buying them. I must say i am glad I did.
All the dvds as a whole were not all THAT repetitive. Out of the 13, only two of them I wouldn't recommend IF you have BST and/or Series 1 because you only learn like two new signs. They are Going Outside and Box of Crayons. You can read my comments on them in the individual reviews. Otherwise there are a lot of new signs in this series.
Don't get me wrong, I am all for repetitiveness because children learn from it. An adult who loves watching these it can be torture, but all children want to do is rewatch stuff over and over again.
I do agree that she doesn't do as many songs as BST & Series 1. This series tends to have one song that is broken up into segments to help review the signs learned in each dvd. Some of them have maybe one other song. It is a cute way of doing it, and the songs are still great. Yes, like most I would have loved ore songs, but I having tried writing songs before, I know how hard it can be. As many songs as she has written she still did a great job.
There is also a new approach with the segments "What Time is it?" They are cute and fun, though, "Counting Time" I feel could have learned many more numbers for this age group, and "Story Time" used a lot of the same stories vs making new ones for each dvd to incorporate the signs learned. She also didn't sign a lot of the words stated in "Story Time", when she could have used so many already learned in Series 1 as review for this age group. Since she has stated that repetition is great in her interviews then why not use them in Story Time?
The same goes for all the songs in the series she doesn’t sign as many words as she did in the other series. In BST & Series 1 she would sign all through the songs and in this series I noticed that she only signs the words that you learn in the dvd. I feel that is a bit backwards since the kids that are watching this are probably older and would get more out of it, like repetitiveness & learning more signs verses when they were babies. Since repetition is good, then at least sign the words previously learned from the first series.
Overall I still feel this is a great Series to add to your collection and I would recommend them to anyone who asks me :)

Educational Value Quality of Product Entertainment Value Price My daughter is two and has been signing since she was ten months old. We were getting signs off the internet but when I checked out Series 1 cd 2 my daughter watched it literally ten times that day. Watching someone do the signs instead of reading how to do it has been great. She picked up four or five signs. We have since checked out ten more cd's and we watched them everyday. I have come on to check the price but there is no way I can pay that much. It is worth it if you can afford it but right now I will get them for FREE at the library!!!!!

Entertainment Value Price Educational Value Quality of Product I love series one more than series two my son gets upset with the added Hopping Time and Game Time just like when he gets commercials on a movie. I do think its better with out them, more signs would be better it feels like an interruption to a lesson well I still love the series over all. Since I don’t have time to take a class of ASL all I know is everything from these DVD’s and they do help us and are fun. I was thinking maybe the added feature should be a option for those kids like my son that get lost in that time.

Educational Value Quality of Product Entertainment Value Price Other than being a little pricey, these dvd are incredible, My kids loved volume 1 and am now ordering volume 2. not only do the kids enjoy watching these DVD's I find it to be a great DADDY and kids time, often stopping the dvd player and quizing the kids.
They are a little tough to afford and requires some saving for our family to purchase them but it is a worth while investment.(Posted on 12/22/09)
