Animals and Pets

Young children love to learn about the world around them. One of the most beloved topics for kids to learn about is animals and pets. Animal names and the sounds that animals make are often some of the first words that children learn to say. Likewise, ASL animal signs are among the first signs that children love to learn. Signing Times animals and pets DVDs are among our most popular DVDs with young children. If you would like to teach your baby signs for animals, Signing Time’s Baby Signing Time Vol. 1: It’s Baby Signing Time DVD is an excellent beginning resource. Included on this DVD is the song, “The Pet’s I love,” and the signs for bird, fish, cat, dog, horse, and frog. Two excellent introductory DVDs for toddlers are Signing Time Vol. 1: My First Signs DVD and Vol. 5: ABC Signs. The Vol. 1 DVD teaches signs for common baby ‘first words,’ including pets, family members, and food. The Vol. 5 DVD introduces all of the signs for the alphabet and features the original song "A is for Alex and Alligator" which includes several more animal signs.
