Teaching Tips – to learn how to sign fox in ASL

  • Games for learning to read often start with phonics – and “fox” begins with the letter F! Point this out to your child and practice the sign together, emphasizing the beginning sound. You can say something like, “F is for fox! FFFFF-ox! Fox!”
  • Lots of children’s books star a fox – sometimes a sneaky one, sometimes a good one. Go to the library and find some books with a fox character. Read the story together and sign fox each time it appears on the page.
