FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Two Little Hands Productions, Creators of Popular Children’s TV Series Signing Time, Debuts Second Season at This Year’s Toy Fair 2008
SALT LAKE CITY, February 11, 2008 – Two Little Hands Productions — creators of the popular Signing Time! series and the hit public television show designed to teach babies, toddlers and young children to communicate using American Sign Language (ASL) — will debut its second season at this year’s Toy Fair 2008 in New York City on February 17-20th.
Like the original, series two will continue building children’s ASL vocabulary with many new signs. In addition to its signature clever animation and new original songs from co-founder Rachel Coleman, Signing Time series two includes several new learning modules that not only put children’s ASL vocabulary to work but enhance their overall learning, communication, self-confidence, and verbal skills.
The Toy Fair, held at the Jacob K. Javitz Convention Center in New York City, holds educational seminars focused on successful business practices, growth and development in the toy industry.
Signing Time offers an unparalleled multi-sensory approach to learning through three senses: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. Signing Time reaches children with diverse learning styles and abilities by encouraging interaction through signing, singing, speaking, and dancing. Featuring Rachel Coleman, her daughter Leah — who is deaf — along with Alex (Leah’s cousin, who can hear) and their animated pet frog Hopkins, the Signing Time series teaches hundreds of ASL vocabulary-building signs that are useful in daily life.
As early as nine months, babies and toddlers can learn to communicate through signs and research shows that babies who learn to sign may experience reduced frustrations and fewer tantrums, enhanced cognitive development and increased IQ scores, increased bonding with parents, increased interest in books, and quicker development of speaking, spelling and reading skills.
Two Little Hands Productions will also feature their first season of Signing Time during the Toy Fair, with titles from the original series, including: My First Signs, Playtime Signs, Everyday Signs, Family, Feelings & Fun and ABC Signs, My Favorite Things, Leah’s Farm, The Great Outdoors, The Zoo Train, My Day, My Neighborhood, Time to Eat and Welcome to School.
