Learn how to sign the letter L – what words do you know that start with L?

1. Bring one hand up about shoulder height. Extend the pointer finger straight up and the thumb straight out. Tuck the remaining fingers into the palm.
2. This sign looks just like an upper case L – it’s a very easy one to remember!

Teaching Tips:

  • Learning the alphabet is fun when singing is involved! Practice singing and signing the ABC’s as often as you can. It’s a great distraction while waiting in line at the grocery store or on long drives too!
  • Practice writing upper and lower case L with chalk on a driveway or sidewalk. Sign the letter too!
