Signing Time Spanish – Sneak Peek!

Published by at 11:56 am under Signing Resources and Ideas

Signing Time Volumes 1-3 (from Series 1) will soon be available in Spanish! These special edition DVDs will feature two audio options:

Spanish: Watch the original program dubbed in Spanish (except songs). Plus, every time you see the written word for each sign, it appears in English and Spanish. This option is excellent for Spanish-speaking families who want to learn ASL. (features “United Nations-style” dubbing.)

English + Spanish: Enjoy the original program in English, with the word for the featured sign written and spoken in Spanish. For example: “Apple. Manzana. You twist your knuckle in your cheek. Apple. Manzana.” This version is excellent for English speakers learning Spanish vocabulary with ASL, and for multilingual classroom settings.

This product is due this spring/early summer, so stay tuned!

I can’t wait for this! We had to return the first two volumes of Signing Time to the friend who lent them to us a few years ago. Our two year old daughter had them memorized and would start the next sign even before it came up on the screen. We’re also trying to teach her Spanish by connecting the Spanish to the sign but she’s not catching that as well. I’ve been waiting for the bilingual version since before Christmas because if RACHEL teaches her Spanish, she’ll pay attention. Anything Rachel, Leah, or Alex does is worth of emulation. :-)

Can’t wait! Signing Times! taught my daughter sign language and is now teaching my son. Like Sara said, anything Rachel does is worth their full attention! We’ve been trying to add in Spanish, but since it’s not my first (or even my second!) language, it hasn’t been going that well. This will certainly be good. What a great idea! I spread the word about Signing Time! everywhere I go and now I have even more reasons! Thank you for all the great products!

I can’t WAIT!! I’ve been debating how to teach a 3rd language to my 3 yr old twins. I taught ASL using Signing Time, and they can’t get enough of it. I know that they will love learning Spanish with Alex and Leah too.

I can’t wait! My son caught on to the signs pretty well, and I think this is a WONDERFUL way to introduce another language!!! I hope it’s out soon!

I LOVE THIS. I am a developmental therapist with several Spanish speaking clients that are language delayed. This will be priceless to us!

I teach two-three year olds and the signing time is such a huge hit. I am struggling to try and find a way to make signing time and spanish co-exist. I am excited that they have it with spanish words now. I hope they up-date the teacher binder with spanish as well. I love my binder and use it all the time.

I’m very excited about this product. Our 5 year old is starting Kindergarten and as part of her schooling will be starting spanish. We have all of the dvds and she LOVES them; I’d love to reinforce her Spanish lessons from school with something so familiar at home!

Will there be any kind of discount for those of us who already own all these DVDs? I’d love to pass on my old ones to the local Library and replace them with these; just not sure if I can convince my husband that we do indeed *need* more Signing Time products!

¡Qué emoción! :o D Muchas gracias por escuchar nuestros comentarios y sugerencias…¡son de lo mejor! I’d like to think that this came about as a result of previous comments and suggestions that I made regarding signing time in Spanish!! :o DD If so, and even if not, sending you a heartfelt appreciation for your extra effort in providing us with this much needed resource!! Mi hija, la más chiquita, y a la que le he estado enseñando desde el principio estos videos y haciendo la traducción en español estaba muy feliz al ver el video doblado al español :o D jaja I called her in to watch the dubbed in Spanish clip and she gave this huge smile as she heard the Spanish! She loves it! (and of course wanted to watch more…but that will come soon :o D).

    Con mucho amor y aloha,
    Tara

¡Que gusto me da poder ver que por fin se han realizado nuestras sugerencias! So glad to see our suggestions finally being realized. Way to go Signing Time! I like how you have created 2 versions of Spanish, one for each target audience. Even though this is not the first children’s ASL product to include Spanish, it will likely be the first one many families are introduced to given the notoriety of your products. Thank you and don’t stop here!

Oh, how wonderful! My husband speaks Spanish with the kids, and I try, but once we started doing ST, their Spanish fell off. Now, we can do both. SO excited.

Mine arrived a day earlier than expected! thank you for prompt delivery. I Cannot say enough good things about these videos. I can play it in Spanish with the English captions so I will know what our adopted daughter is hearing and learning and I can join in on the fun. The music is pleasing to the ear and the children are sweet! I love that there are many races and abilities pictured in the settings. Its not often that a product esceeds my expectations as this has. Many many thanks!

Will we be able to access via on demand? I’m not clear if we will be able to use the Spanish version if we don’t have the DVD.
    Thanks.
