celebrate springtime with our kids

Let’s Celebrate Springtime with Our Kids!

Has it been a long winter where you live? Some of us began spring weather weeks ago, while some of us are still covered in snow. Either way, the official first day of spring is coming up, so it’s time to celebrate. Here are a few easy ways to celebrate springtime with our kids.

Decorate

Children love decorations, and springtime decorations are so cheerful. You can keep it simple or go all out. Younger children could make traditional paper chains in pastel colors. It could be fun to cut out flowers or even to make tissue paper flowers. If you enjoy crafting, it’s a good time to make a springtime themed wreath for your door. Or maybe make a spring-colored pennant banner with cut out triangles from fabric or paper. There are also markers made for drawing on windows, and of course, our kids would love that.

No matter how you decide to do it, decorating is a fun way to celebrate springtime with our kids. So let’s see if there’s a decoration that they would love.

Have a party

Springtime parties are fun for everyone. And this party can be a picnic, a brunch, or even a spring-themed dinner or cook out. Really it could be anything you want. Even our littlest ones would love to celebrate with just a springtime snack.

A springtime party can be a small family celebration, or you could make it a big deal with friends or extended family. Again, it can be as small or as big as you want, and as simple or complex as you’d like. More than anything, it’s important that it works for you and your family to really enjoy it.

Spring is a great time to have a party, and a party is a great way to celebrate springtime with our kids.

Visit a farm

Spring is a time for new life, so it can be a good time to visit a farm to see any newly born animals. And if there isn’t a farm near you, you could look for videos of new chicks, lambs, or any other animals, and watch them with your kids. While you’re at it, you could learn some new animal signs with your kids too!

Get outdoors

Spring is a wonderful time to head outdoors. It’s fun to play outside or go to a playground. But it’s also a good time to do some special outdoor activities like flying a kite or drawing with sidewalk chalk. It’s fun to plant seeds or to go to a garden center and choose some pretty flowers to plant. Hiking trails can be beautiful in the spring too. There are so many ways to celebrate springtime with our kids outdoors!

Springtime Signs

Spring is a good time to learn a few new signs, like flower, garden, bee, or kite

You could also learn signs for your favorite springtime colors

And then, of course, there is the sign for spring.
