April Fools is one of our favorite Holidays as a family. We love pulling harmless pranks on each other and our friends. A few years ago we made the following cookies and put them in lunch sacks and my husband left them on a his co-workers desks. They have become a family favorite April Fools treat.
3 cups Quick Oats
1 tsp Vanilla
2 cups Sugar
1/2 cup Milk
1/2 cup Cocoa
1/2 cup Butter
In a heat proof bowl, mix oats and vanilla. In a medium sauce pan, combine sugar, milk, cocoa, and butter. Cook on medium heat, stirring continually, until just boiling. Remove from heat. Pour over oats; stir until well combined. Place mixture in a one-gallon reclosable bag. Snip one bottom corner, creating a 1/2-1″ hole. Line a baking sheet with wax paper. Pipe the mixture onto the wax paper, creating your desired shape. Allow to cool completely before removing.
