Warning: Pirated Signing Time Product

**If a deal is too good to be true, it’s pirated.** Did you know we’ve lost millions of dollars of sales to counterfeit products? YEP, this has been happening for the past 10+ years. With the monies lost, we could have made Season 3, 4, and 5. Please do not purchase Signing Time products from resellers on Craigslist or Ebay. You are not getting a “great deal” because it’s “straight from the manufacturer.” You’re getting a great deal because the discs are ripped off, and mass produced in China, sold by the caseload, and then sent to you. We lose …

THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!

Hi, Rachel! I just wanted to share that our 6.5 yr old son was dx’d with global dev. delays in infancy. Our older daughter loved your Baby Sigining-Time videos she watched at a sitters so we bought one of our own and so our son watched it pretty much on repeat daily since birth. As he was approaching 18months he still had absolutely nothing that even sounded like a word and no pointing skills, etc. His only communication of what he wanted or needed was our guessing as he grunted or squeaked. He had early intervention and everything. Finally, one …

Hi, I’m Alex!

Usually I’d introduce myself, but if you’re reading this I’m guessing that you already know me. I’m that little boy on your TV, forever frozen in time as a 3-7 year old. Some people can tell they’re getting older when they graduate from high school and go to college. Some people can tell they’re older when they can drive. I realized I was getting older when I was replaced with a cartoon of myself, as a baby. That was how I knew I was getting old back then. Now, I can tell I’m getting even older, because the cartoon of …

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month – About Speech

Submitted by Karen Prewitt, Mom/Advocate  From the National Down Syndrome Society: “There are a wide range of abilities that children with Down syndrome demonstrate when using speech. Speech intelligibility (speech that can be easily understood) is one of the most difficult areas for people with Down syndrome at all ages. Many children have difficulty with the strength, timing, and coordination of muscle movements for speech.” There are so many factors that enter into the picture for speech. It is something most of our folks have issues with, including Caleb. After he (finally) started walking (age 3), our main therapy focus turned to speech. We …

Signing for Success

Signing Time Testimonial by: Loretta A. Signing Time was key to making my life and my kid’s lives so much better. It gave my kids the ability to communicate long before they could speak. All the moms around me taught the basic baby signs. My kids were signing more of their needs, and I was able to avoid so many tantrums because of a new sign they learned from one of the Signing Time videos. Here was what also happened: My kids spoke long before the other kids their age, and they kept wanting to learn more. From ages 3-7 …

Spelling and Signing: How ASL helps with homework

Our first experience with using the manual alphabet with spelling was when our oldest daughter was in second grade. Her teacher was fluent in ASL and he would use signs in the classroom to enrich his teaching. Each week he would have the students practice their spelling words by using the manual alphabet to decode each one (try it now). Then they would finger spell each word. This was one of our daughter’s favorite homework assignments! When we discovered that our second daughter had a speech problem, we included the use of ASL in her Individual Education Plan (IEP). It …

What’s Your Sign?

Originally on The Dadventurist 2/9/2017 published with permission Tilley reaches her chubby little arm up into the air, stretches out her fingers, then balls them up into a fist and repeats. My wife and I leap from our seats, after months of practice, Tilley has thrown up here first sign, and its ‘Milk’. Even before we had our first daughter my wife and I agreed that learning two languages is a great exercise for kids. Not only does it give them an extra skill but helps them with adaptive thinking. There was just one problem, neither of us was fluent in any …
